As 2021 draws to a close, I want to reflect in both prose and poetry.

Per every other year, I wish I would’ve written more-I had an initial goal of 100 blogs and I wrote about half. When you’re ‘adulting’, we all know how hard time is to come by.

’Twas the night before Christmas and contrary to demand

There were thousands of flights which would not land.

Friends and family wandered airports cold and alone

As they thought ‘I’d be home if I could’ve flown!’

The culprit for slowing holiday’s travel pace?

Omicron variant spreading in confined space.

Hence…

Through all history’s stages

Battle scenes play out

Through glossy, thick pages

Men called to war remain stout.

With swords and shields

Across mountains and plains

Across forests and fields

Gripping horses’ reins.

With cannons and hulls

Under storm and clear

Under pelicans and gulls

Gripping helm and pier.
