The Sole Way To Respond

--

If food and drink grace your table

If family and friends sit around

If roof towers above your head

If transport goes where you must

If to do your passions you are able

If money in your accounts is found

If your ideas can still be spread

If you have not yet become dust

Forget what you want

Forget regrets that haunt

Forget dues and debts

Forget neighbor’s assets

Remember what you possess

Remember delights that destress

Remember favors and boons

Remember when heart swoons

On November 25th and beyond

Be respectful

Be hopeful

Be joyful

Be thankful

To such gifts, the sole way to respond.
