The Week In Summarized Rhyme

Another week has come and gone, but before Monday’s dawn

I shall summarize the news-without giving the blues

Stick around, sit back and listen to this clown!

I gotta be honest…. about Meghan and Harry’s interview

A la Mark Manson, the f — ks I give, they are quite few.

However, 17 million TV viewers apparently disagree

100,000 more for Pier’s walkoff, oh goodness me!

The civil discussion between him and a co-host

Got me thinking and reflecting the most.

Meghan and Harry should tell their side

Racism and classism no one should abide.

Anyway, here’s a clear truth in all of this…..

Wealth and power do not bring bliss.

I’m glad we got rid of the crown

I need to turn off the TV or I’ll drown.

23 million guns sold in the USA, who knew

2020 would be like a song of The Guess Who.

With a record level of firearms around

To the wrong people do not make a sound

Sure protecting yourself is a noble deed

But damn, how many innocent people gonna bleed?

The stimulus bill passed the Senate and the House

1.9 trillion…we blow money like an errant spouse.

Giving the suffering targeted, organized relief

If the vote were bipartisan….I’m dreamin’, chief

50 days, 7 weeks without addressing the press

President Biden’s trying to avoid a gaffe filled mess.

The longest gap, even greater than old Silent Cal

You’ll do better than the last guy, chin up pal!

Ok, he did address the nation on COVID’s birthday

We may be back to normal on July 4th, yay….

In case you like throwing around the pigskin

Drew Brees, who taught New Orleans how to win

hung up his cleats. I wished he would’ve beaten Brady

I keep thinking not so Terrific Tom is a little bit shady.

Now Drew can spend some more time with his family

If none of them go to Purdue, it’ll be a little calamity.

There you have it, some news of the past week or so

If you dare to think my rhymin’ skills blow

It ain’t easy to be brief, rhyme and summarize

You should try this little game on for size!
